THE GOLF COURSE IN THE SKY

As eighteen flags flew at half mast, and
Glasses were soberly raised high
The latest member was having a ball
At the golf course in the sky

Freed from the gravity of the situation
The first tee shot soared through space
Bringing a wondrous, beaming smile
To a kind, down to earth face

Surrounded by old club friends
Once thought never to be seen again
The infinity course beckoned ahead
Eighteen holes were for mere mortal men

Bernard W. Burke
October 14, 2016

Bernard was a long time patron of the Rustic.  He would stop in at least once every year for a burger.  He was always wearing a driving cap.  We shared memories of the past and the fun times at the Rustic.  I will miss his humor and "dapper" dress.

Beverly Potter
May 23, 2015

Beverly and Don were long time members of the Rustic.  Lots of laughter in the clubhouse when they were around.  Beverly was a past ladies' league secretary.  She was truly a good person.

Alice Walker
                                        May 1st, 2015
Alice was one of our original members at the Rustic, along with her husband Harold.  They built a house across from #4 tee and enjoyed many good times on our "links".  She was a past president of the Ladies' League.

Sadly missed.
